Jou Terms of Service

Jou is a journalling and sticker app. You can write entries, add moods, stickers, blocks and todo-style items, create custom photo stickers, export/import journal data, unlock digital stickers, use reminders, and access account-backed features.

You may use Jou locally or sign in with email, Google or Apple. You are responsible for keeping your account secure. If you delete your account, associated synced data, stickers and credits may be permanently removed.

Your journal entries and other content remain yours. You give us a limited licence to store, process, sync, display, export and back up your content only as needed to operate Jou. Jou is private by design; we do not claim ownership of your journal content.

Do not use Jou to store or share unlawful content, abuse services, interfere with security, or attempt to reverse engineer paid, reward, sync or backend systems.

You may create custom stickers from photos you choose from your library or take with your camera. You must own the photo or have the necessary permission to use it to create a sticker in Jou.

You retain ownership of your photos and custom stickers. You give us a limited licence to process, store, sync, display, and otherwise use them only as needed to operate and provide the custom-sticker feature.

Do not use the feature for unlawful, infringing, harmful, abusive, or otherwise prohibited content. We may remove custom stickers or suspend access where we reasonably believe this feature is being misused or these Terms are breached.

Jou may let you record moods or reflections, but it is not medical, therapeutic or mental-health advice.

Credit bundles are consumable digital in-app purchases sold through Apple's App Store. Local App Store pricing is shown before purchase and may vary by country or region.

Credits are virtual items for use inside Jou only. They have no cash value, are not transferable, and cannot be redeemed outside Jou. Credits may be spent on individual stickers, full collections or completing partially owned collections. Sticker and collection availability may change.

Refunds and payment issues are handled by Apple, except where the law requires otherwise. Sign in before buying so credits, subscriptions and sticker unlocks can be associated with your account.

Jou Plus is an optional subscription that provides premium features, which may include cloud sync, custom themes, bonus sticker credits, and other benefits described in the app at the time of purchase.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through Apple. Payment is charged to your Apple ID/App Store account. Manage or cancel subscriptions in Apple account settings. Prices, trial offers, and available benefits may vary by country or region and may change over time.

If you cancel a subscription, premium features may remain available until the end of the current billing period. Bonus credits already granted to your account remain available unless your account is deleted or applicable law requires otherwise.

Watch & Earn rewarded ads are optional and may have daily limits. Rewards require ad completion and server-side verification. Rewards may be delayed, unavailable, or fail if an ad is closed early, verification fails, the network is unavailable, or abuse is detected.

We may change, suspend or remove features, stickers, pricing, rewards or subscription benefits. We will try to avoid unnecessarily disrupting existing journals, but Jou is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

Jou uses Apple, Google, Supabase and PostHog services. Their terms and privacy policies may also apply, especially for sign-in, App Store purchases, subscriptions, ads and analytics.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited, including statutory consumer rights. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect loss, loss of data, loss of profit, service interruption or third-party service failures. Users are responsible for maintaining their own backups of exported data where appropriate.

You may stop using Jou at any time and may delete your account in Settings. We may suspend access if you misuse the app, abuse backend systems, attempt fraud, or breach these Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes relating to these Terms or your use of Jou will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where applicable consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
